Our Club Lotto numbers drawn for last week were 3,12,23,24. Match 3 winning €50.00 was Mary Mitchell, Kilmacowen.  Jackpot €11,500
The final games for our young footballers u6,/u8/u10 was held last Wednesday eve in a very well attended Ransboro Park. We played Curry in very competitive and fun filled matches.  In the school hall afterwards the children received their certificates along with refreshments and treats.  Well done to all the boys and girls, coaches alike.
There is a Summer Camp for 5 to 8 year olds to be held at Ransboro Park from August 5th to 8th from 10.00am to 3.00pm.  Cost is €45.00.  This promises to be lots of fun, with small sided games and skills while fully supervised by qualified coaches.  Contact Tommy Cradock 087 7866845 or come along on the morning.
Our mens juniors footballers put in a brave but ultimately fruitless performance in their first round championship game against Shamrock Gaels in Ballintogher on Sunday. After suffering a 19 point defeat to the same opponents in a league match the previous weekend, out lads were rank outsiders in this match but started brightly and played with determination and resolve througout. Francis Gaughan opened the scoring but the Gaels soon equalised. Our lads were enjoying a good share of the possession but a series of mistakes mid way through the half led to 3 goals being conceded. Pointed frees from Jamie Banigan and from play by Kevin Cooney were reward for our lads sticking to the task and a fine goal by Colm Parke after nice work by Dara Macken left just 4 points between the sides at the break. The Gaels enjoyed a period of domination after half time and extended their lead with two well taken points and an opportunist goal. Our chances of recovery looked bleak at this point with Cooney shown an extremely harsh black card but down our lads never relented and completely took over in the final quarter. Excellently taken scores by John Kilrehill and Colm Parke were mixed in with some wasteful shooting. A controversial late incident where the Gaels 'keeper appeared to step back over the goal line while in possession was waved away and at the final whistle the Gaels had held on. Our team gained a lot in defeat, especially several younger players who acquitted themselves well against their more experienced opponents. Final score Coolera/Strandhill 1-8, Shamrock Gaels 4-5. Team: G. Sherlock, K. Connaughton, D. Hayden, D. Flynn, J. Hampson, M. Gillen, D. Loftus, F. Gaughan, K. Cooney, J. Banigan, C. Scanlon, C. Parke, D. Macken, S. Carroll, A, Murphy. Sub: J Kilrehill. This team play Owenmore Gaels in their round 2 championship matchnext Friday at 7.45pm in Kent Park in what promises to be a very tough assignment. All support welcome
