Hard luck to our U-14 hurling team that lost to a very strong Easkey team in the county final last Wednesday. Despite the heroics of goalkeeper Michael Munnelly, Centre-back Hubert Gilvarry, centre-fielders Cathal Corcoran and Niall Campbell and forward Roan Conneely we were no match for the winners. We have however the U-14 league title and qualification to Feile as consolation this year. Thanks to the mentors Bill O'Kelly-Lynch and Brian Conneely for their work during the year.
The U10s won all their games in Thursday's blitz v Coolera and Drumcliffe/Rosses Point with John Corcoran, Ronan Niland and Brendan Munnelly particularly impressive.
The U12s won 16-11 against Calry in Urban league on Sunday. Anthony Fidgeon was scorer-in-chief and Ethan Scully and Michael Morgan capped fine performances with some excellent points. Paul Gallagher and Keelan Davey were outstanding in defence.
U12/U14 training on Wed at 6pm followed by U-16/minors at 7pm.
Senior training is at 7.15pm on Wednesday and with the Martin Brennan Cup semis in less than two weeks we need a full attendance.
Good luck to our minor hurling team who play local rivals Coolera/Strandhill in the MHC Final at 6.15pm on Thursday in Markievicz Park. A big turnout to support the team is encouraged!
