Hard luck to the Senior Ladies who were beaten by Mayo County Champions Carnacon in Ballyhaunis on Saturday last. Geevagh were just 2 points down at half time, and never stopped trying but a few unanswered points in the 2nd half gave the victory to Carnacon, with a full time score of 3 17 to 3 7. Thanks to David Gaffney and Sean Breheny and to all of the players for their hard work and committment throughout the season.
Well done to Geevagh lads Donal Conlon and Sean Heaney who were part of the Naoimh Eoin Minor Hurling team which beat Coolera Strandhill to win the County Championship for the first time in Tubbercurry on Saturday on Saturday last.
The Club are organising a fundraising Fashion Show on 7th November in Kilronan Castle, and it looks set to be a most enjoyable evening.
Membership of the 200 Club is being finalised at the end of October. Anyone wishing to join for the current year should do so before then.
The Club would like to offer its sympathy to Margaret Davey and her family on the recent death of her father Owen Gormley.
