Last Monday afternoon word of the sad passing of one of our clubs most dedicated and prolific members went around the parish and wider surrounding area. Tributes and fond memories of the late Owen Gormley were shared with friends far and near all recalling encounters with a great family man who enjoyed the simple things in life like a football match and a pint afterwards to help analyse the days viewing. It's fair to say that Owen as a player, club member, supporter and proud father commanded a certain respect when it came to his knowledge on football and the large turnout for his guard of honour of Gaels from far and near highlighted this. We shall certainly miss his humour and his dedication to all things local. We extend sympathies to his wife Muriel, his nine children, his sister and brothers and to his wider family and large circle of friends.

Well done to the 15 players who fielded against Coolera on Sunday to ensure our survival in Division 1 for 2015 after a 2-11 to 2-7 win. This brings the senior year to a close. Thanks to all the players for their efforts all year. Special thanks to manager David Killoran and selectors John O'Flaherty and Richard Brennan who kept the show on the road.

Well done to Ronan McDonagh who competed in a world darts competition recently in Hull and reached the last 8. Also congrats to the St Nathys Minor team who have reached the Connacht final and best of luck against their Galway opposition.

Our u11s had a very successful weekend winning a blitz tournament in Calry. Well done to all involved and the management of Dermot Gormanley and Eamonn Mitchell.
