All roads lead to Rathcormac Hall this Saturday (24th) for our Annual Juvenile Awards night. There is much for Drumcliffe Rosses Point to celebrate in both football and hurling from 2014 with numerous successes for our underage teams. It promises to be a very enjoyable occasion for all the family. The awards ceremony will begin at 7.45pm.

The club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Paddy Gormley as the new Under 21 football manager for 2015. Other key managerial positions for the season ahead are currently being finalised.

There was a very positive response to our inaugural monthly club newsletter, which was published last week. Thank you for all the feedback. We’ll continue to tweak and improve it as we go along. The aim of the newsletter is to provide a regular and timely summary of the club’s activities and events. It will be emailed to all club members on the second Wednesday of every month. The February edition is scheduled for Wednesday 11th. If you have any items for inclusion, email the club PRO Austin O’Callaghan: sligoausty@gmail.com.

A reminder that the club’s monthly meeting is held on the second Monday of every month in Oxfield at 8pm. Managers and coaches are particularly welcome to attend these meetings. The monthly meeting is open to all club members, not just elected officers.

The club’s popular GAA Nursery restarts in Oxfield on Saturday, February 28th. The U-6 nursery will begin at 9,45am followed by U-8s & U-10s at 10:30. More details will be published in the coming weeks.

The GAA’s National Children's Officer Gearóid Ó Maoilmhíchil will address a meeting of all club children's officers in the Radisson Hotel at 8pm on Monday 26th. Gearóid will outline the role and clarify any issues in relation to this important position in every club.

There are a number of relevant and useful course opportunities coming up for club members in the next few weeks. These include the Foundation course for new coaches, Code of Ethics and First Aid. More information is available on the Sligo GAA website or contact our Coaching Officer Shane Campbell.

Club Registration for 2015 will take place on two main dates next month. They are: Saturday, Feb 21st: Oxfield, 10am – 1pm.

Wednesday, Feb 25th: Rosses Point (location & time tbc).

Condolences to the family of Michael McGarraghy from Springfield, following his death last week. Our thoughts are with his wife Mary, son Seán, and daughters Marie, Michelle & Geraldine at this sad time.
