It is 25 years since we won our first Senior Championship and we will celebrate this success over the June Bank Holiday weekend. We will kick off on Friday 29th when we honour the 1966 St Josephs Junior Team in Hartes, Riverstown. This will be followed by the annual Golf Classic on Saturday 30th in Castle Dargan Golf Club followed by the presentation in McDermotts, Castlebaldwin. To book your tee time please contact Niall Kearns on 086 8599792. On Sunday 31st May we will be holding a family fun day at Shamrock Gaels Park following Mass for deceased members at 12.30PM. The annual Dinner Dance will take place in Castle Dargan on Sunday night during which both the 1990 and 1992 winning teams will be honoured. We will also induct Hugh McGonagle into our Hall of Fame. The 2014 Player of the Year awards will also be presented.

 

The Senior team lost 1-6 to 0-8 away to St Michaels last Saturday. The team was: Donal Tuohy, Colin Harte, Paul Higgins, Shane Barry, Conor Merrick, James Lyons, Michael Hannon, David Quinn (0-3), Joe Henry (0-1), Ciaran O’Connor, Keith Candon, Joe Quinn (0-4), Johnny Quinn, Daniel Willis, Mark Boyd. Subs: Frank Quinn for K Candon, Eoin Carroll for Joe Quinn. They now play St Patricks next Sunday at 2.00PM.

 

The Junior team lost to St Johns last Sunday. Scorers were: Derek Davey (1-0), Mark Boyd (1-2), Brian McDermott (0-1), Daire Kearns (0-2), Nigel Hargadon (1-0). They are at home to St Marys next Saturday at 7PM.

 

The minor team were well beaten in the League Shield Final last Thursday. Scorers were: Conor McGrievy (0-1), Enda O’Connell (0-1), Daire Kearns (0-1), Daniel Murphy (1-1), Mark Kearns (0-1), Caolan Morrisroe (0-1), Daragh Hailstones (1-1). They are now on a break until after the leaving cert.

 

The U14 boys play their last league game away to St. Farnans this Friday at 7PM.

 

Both U12 teams lost to strong St. Mary's sides last Tuesday. The Division 1 team was:  Adam Kearns, Conor Sheridan, Aodhan Eivers, Ciaran Kenny, Sam Tuohy, Georgre Barlow, Johnny Kenny (0-2), Jason Kilkenny, Conor Mc Morrow, David Barlow, James Foley, Shane Dwyer (0-1), Jamie Parke subs: Dylan Mc Kenna (0-1), Andrew Mc Greevy (0-1), Oisin Conlon. Division 4 team: Brian Dwyer, Aaron Conlon, Patrick Barratt, Andrew McGreevy, Cathal Jinks, Oisin Conlon, Dylan Mc Kenna (0-1), Andrew Barlow , Nathan Wimsey, Donal Callaghan, Jack Duignan (0-1), Subs: James Foley (0-1), Jamie Parke (0-1). Their next game is on May 26th at home.

Well done to the U8 and U10 teams who both won against Curry at home last Wednesday.

The U16 Girls play the B League semi-final on Wednesday at 7PM - please support.

The Ladies league final was postponed due to bereavement in the Calry club – the game has yet to be re-scheduled.

The U12 girls play Eastern Harps this Tuesday in Coola at 7PM

The lotto draw takes place next Saturday in Des McDonaghs with the jackpot at €1,500.
