Our Minor team management hosted a very successful table quiz in Austie’s Restaurant last Friday. A big thank-you to everyone who supported the event in such large numbers. All proceeds go toward the minor team’s championship preparations. The club extends its appreciation to John Feeney and the staff at Austie’s for their assistance and hospitality.

The seniors lost narrowly to Tubbercurry in the league on Friday night, on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-10. Despite being without several regulars, DRP can take some encouragement from running the County Champions to two points. The team’s next league assignment is a home match against Eastern Harps on Sunday at 2pm.

With ladies football still on a high after the county team’s recent National League success, our intermediate footballers resume their league fixtures with a home match against St Mary’s in Oxfield on Sunday (24th). Throw-in is at 12pm.

Congratulations to the Rosses Point Boys U10 Community Games gaelic football team who had an exciting one-point victory over Castleconnor last week. It was a great performance and we wish the U10s the best of luck against Geevagh in the next round.

Well done to our U8s (boys and girls) and U10s (boys) who travelled to Cleveragh last Wednesday to play St. John's in a friendly blitz.  Four competitive and very enjoyable games took place in parallel under a cloudless sky.  Well done to all the kids who played, and a big thanks to all the mums and dads who came out and supported their Club.  A big thank-you also to Fergal and all the gang at St. John's GAA Club for hosting us.  Next up for the U10 boys is a much anticipated 'challenge match' with the U10 girls in Oxfield on Saturday morning.

Sligo GAA is organising a Child Protection course this Tuesday, May 19th, at St Molaise Gaels GAA Club in Grange at 6.30pm. A further course is also planned for Ballymote/Bunninadden on Fri May 29th. Contact our Coaching Officer Shane Campbell for more details.

Tickets are selling steadily for the club’s new Super Lotto Draw. This is one of the key fundraisers for 2015. The new lotto format will see 11 monthly draws, starting in June. So, there’ll be more chances to win. Ticket prices are €50, which covers all draws and puts you in the hat for the All-Ireland football final ticket draw in September. Please contact club treasurer Ger Carroll on 087 3512685 for tickets and distribution details.
