There was no joy for the minor team in the league final on Thursday last when they were defeated by St. Mary`s on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-6.St. Farnan`s struggled to make any headway in this game and found themselves trailing by 1-8 to 0-3 at half time with Nathan Rooney supplying St. Mary`s with most of the sides scores. St. Mary`s dominated play in the second half and despite efforts from St. Farnan`s, scores remained elusive. St. Farnan`s can take take consolation in the achievement of getting to the final and the experience that this team of very young players has gained. The team was K.Devaney, F. Ryan, C. Gillen, P. Flynn, J. Weir, E. Kilgannon, F. Kilgannon, M. Devaney, F. Cawley(0-4(2f), K. Kilrehill,P. O`Connor(1-2), N. Crean, S. Mulligan, G. Calpin, C. Gordon. Subs: C. Murray(used), D. Hanley, K. Mc Gee, O. Connolly, R. Molloy, C. Connolly.

Our intermediate team picked up two vital points last Friday evening at home to Cloonacool. Playing with the wind we got the perfect start with Ciaran netting in the opening minutes. We continued to work hard and dominated the opening 20 minutes to lead by six points. The final ten minutes of the first half belonged to Cloonacool who picked off 3 fast points and brought the best out of Fergus who denied them a certain goal. Half time score 1-4 to 0-4.  We again had the perfect start to the second half, with Fergal getting on the end of a long range free and flicking the ball to the net. This kick started an excellent second half performance with all six backs dominating their area, in midfield Micheal and Cormac fielded well and controlled the game. The forwards high work rate and excellent interplay paid off as we pointed a further 10 times against the wind to leave the final score 2-14 to 0-6. The team on duty was: Fergus Hargadon, Karl Hannon, Declan Taylor, James Flynn, Greg Feeney, Padraic Culkin, Darren Hynes,  Fergal Kilgannon, Cormac Hallinan, Ciaran O'Connor, Trevor Kilgannon, Gavin Calpin, Kieran Kilgannon,  Keith Lang. Subs used David Culkin, Michael McGowan.

Our juniors travelled with a depleted squad on Sunday morning to face Castleconnor in the division 4 league.  We stayed in contention up until half time but with an injury to Kieran Kilgannon forcing us to play a man down in the second half, Castleconnor ran out easy winners. Well done to Caolan on his second senior game and to our two debutantes Niall Crean and Ronan Hynes. Team on duty. Niall Culkin, Declan Taylor, Caolan Gillen, Karl Hannon, Fergal Kilgannon, Ronan Hynes, Darren Hynes, Cormac. Hallinan, Keith Lang, Gary Hannon, Niall Crean, Kieran Kilgannon.

The club lost its second league final in succession when the under 16 team were defeated by Curry in the B final on Monday last in Scarden. This game was played in dreadful conditions. St. Farnan`s played with the wind in the first half but failed to capitalise on this and at half time trailed by 3-4 to 1-3.The team tried to bridge the gap in the second half but Curry`s full forward line continued their dominance and won by 3-12 to 1-9.The team was: S. Mullarkey, G. Connolly, E. Kilrehill, F. Kilgannon, S. O`Brien,J. Weir, M. Devaney(0-1), K. Mc Gee, D. Hanley, C. Connolly, K. Kilrehill(0-1), S. Mulligan(1-5(3f), C. Hallinan. Subs:S.
