The senior
footballers extended their unbeaten run by turning in another impressive performance
to defeat Enniscrone in a division 2 league fixture in Pairc Ailbhe on Friday
evening. With two games remaining, promotion is in our own hands and no effort will
be spared in preparation for the trip to Easky next weekend.
Our senior ladies face Eastern Harps at home
at 12 noon on Sunday next, May 24th and have another home fixture
the following week when we welcome neighbours St. Michaels to Pairc Ailbhe. This
game also throws in at 12 noone.
The U-8s and U-10s travelled to St. Farnan’s
on Wednesday last only to be disappointed when the home team struggled to field
teams at both grades.
Congratulations
to all our squad members who received first Holy communion on Saturday last.
The U-10 community games team travel to play Rosses Point on Thursday evening
at 7pm.
The monthly club executive meeting took place
in the resource centre on Wednesday last. As always, finance was top of the
agenda. With the club currently fielding boys and girls teams from U-8 to U-18
as well as two competitive senior teams, our resources both personnel and
financial are stretched to breaking
point. We appeal to all club members to show their support by renewing membership,
joining the 200 club and supporting any fundraising initiative. The club is
currently seeking sponsors for perimeter advertising around the pitch. Local businesses
may rent a space on the hoarding for up to three years at a very competitive
rate. Interested parties can contact a member of the committee.
Winners of the 200 club draw for may are as
follows. First prize, e150 Patsy Daley, second prize e100 Josephine Mulvaney.
Third prize e50 Mary and Thomas Conlon. Fourth prize e50 James and Mary
Shivnan.
The Sligo Senior ladies Juggernaut rolled into
Bornacoola to face Leitrim in the Connaught Intermediate Championship on Sunday
last. No details are currently available and a report will be included next
week.
