Bonfires burned all over the Parish on Tuesday for more than one reason. Our u12 girls claimed the A League final in a pulsating contest that went right down to the wire.
Leading by the minimum at the end of the first and second quarters, Calry looked comfortable, but to their credit, Coolera regrouped and managed to level it up and even lead by 2 well into the final quarter. A nail biting final few minutes ensued and the girls dug deep and with fire in their bellies and a "Never say Die attitude", the girls fought back, and with the final three attacks of the game, knocked over 3 unanswered points to win the game by a solitary score.
Massive congratulations to the hardworking management and girls.
As good as the Girls result was, the best was still to come with the u14 boys beating Enniscrone in the Shield Final.
In a game that some would think no matter what we did, we would still be on the losing side, the lads showed massive heart and excellent discipline to overcome all sides to beat Enniscrone by 8.09 to 5.06.
Huge congrats to the management and team.
Congratulations to the Sligo Minors on their fantastic win against Leitrim on Saturday,  and  especially to Conor McGovern and Darragh Cummins,  our lads on the panel. The latter picking up the Man of the Match award and knocking over three super scores in the process.
No "Go Games" this week and our u6 game v Drumcliffe had to be cancelled due to a bereavement. We do hope to reschedule for the near future.
The u8 and u10 teams play a Blitz in Markievicz Park on Saturday next so no training for them this week.
We extend our sincere sympathies to the Eames family Ballinode on the sad passing of  Mrs Josie Eames.
Go ndeanfaidh Dia Trocaire ar a anam uasal.
