The minor team had their second win of the A championship when they overcame Tubbercury/ Cloonacool by 0-11 to 1-2 in Templeboy on Thursday last.St. Farnan`s got the opening score with a point from Stephen Mulligan. Tubbercurry got a goal in reply from a high ball  which caused some confusion and landed in the top corner of the net.It was Tubbercurry`s only score of the first half whilst St. Farnan`s got 6 points in total to lead 0-6 to 1-0 at the break.
St. Farnan`s got the first point of the second half from Finnian Cawley. Tubbercurry managed only two points in the second half despite battling hard. St. Farnan`s , however added four more points to secure victory. James Weir had an excellent game at full back. Finnian Cawley, Conor Gordon and Stephen Mulligan played very well amongst others. The intermediate team earned their first win of the intermediate championship when they defeated Cloonacool by 0-13 to 0-9 in Quigabar on Saturday last.St. Farnan`s got off to a great start and led by 0-4 before Cloonacool got their opening score.At half time we led 0-6 to 0-3. St. Farnan`s got the opening score of the second half when Finnian Cawley who had replaced Cormac Hallinan just before half time got a point. Cloonacool got the next 4 points to level the game at 0-7 each. St. Farnan`s battled hard and regained the lead with a point from Michael Mc Gowan. Aided by points from Ciaran O` Connor and James Hynes St. Farnan`s went on to win by four points.The team was:K. Devaney,J. Quinn,G. Ryan, D. Taylor, G. Feeney, P. Culkin, D. Hynes, M. The under 16 team defeated Buninadden in the quarter final of the championship on Monday in Templeboy. The final score was St. Farnan's 1-15, Buninadden 0-9.St. Farnans dominated the early stages of this game and had scored 1-4 before Buninadden got their first point.At half time we led 1-9 to 0-3. In the second half the opposition battled well and added 6 points to their tally. We also scored another 6 points to ensure a win and a place in the semi finals.St. Farnan's  Sean Hallinan and Farnan Kilgannon, amongst others played very well.The team was S. Mullarkey, S. We extend our best wishes to Keelan Kilrehill who was injured at the weekend. Keelan won the inaugural mile race at Sligo Races on Tuesday last to the delight of St. Farnan`s supporters and also played a key role in the minor team`s win on Thursday.We wish him a speedy recovery.
Well done to Shane O`Brien who was part of Sligo`s under 15 squad and Cahan Hallinan who was part of Sligo`s under 14 panel on their recent successes.
Good luck to our players on the Sligo under 14 and under 16 hurling panels who will take part in the All Ireland competitions in Cavan and Westmeath on Saturday.
