The senior footballers drew their Championship relegation play-off with St John’s on Saturday evening on a final scoreline of 0-13 each. We were behind for much of the game and yet led by one going into the final minute of added time. Paul Logan kicked 0-9 of DRP’s total, all from frees. It was far from a vintage team display but the lads showed commendable character to come from three points down with 11 minutes remaining - and earn a share of the spoils. Eoin Gaughan, Alan O'Dowd, Seán Power and John Harvey all contributed good scores from play at important stages. Keep an eye on our social media pages for confirmation of the date, time and venue for the replay.

Congrats to the boys U13 footballers who secured a semi-final place in the Feile ‘A’ League following victory over Castleconnor at Oxfield. They now face Ballymote in the semi-final on Sunday morning at Oxfield. Throw-in: 11am.

Last Tuesday’s City mini league game against St Mary’s in Scarden marked the last game with the club for Will Bennis as his family moves to Singapore. Will joined the club at U10 and made terrific progress as a player in a relatively short time. His team-mates presented him with a commemorative club jersey to remind him of his days with club. We wish Will and the Bennis family every success with their ‘next step’. Rumour has it that Singapore Gaelic Lions GAA club officials already have the transfer papers ready to greet Will at International arrivals!

Fresh from their recent County Championship success, the club’s ladies minor footballers begin their Connacht Club football championship when they play St Brigid’s of Leitrim in the provincial semi-final semi-final. We wish the players and management team every success.

The girls U14s warmed up for their forthcoming County ‘B’ Championship final with an impressive victory over St Mary’s in a challenge match at Oxfield last Wednesday.

It’s a big week for our  U12 girls footballers as they get ready to contest the County ‘B” Championship final against Shamrock Gaels on Sunday morning. Throw-in: 11am. We wish the players and the management team of Frank Moylan, Trevor Ferguson and John Casserly every success this weekend.

The Oxfield Community Centre is running a CPR and Defibrillator Course this Thursday 8th from 7-10pm. Cost: €10 euro. To book a place, contact Michael Kilcoyne.
