Congratulations to our u16 hurlers on claiming the league shield title in Scarden last week. We got off to a great start with both Roan Conneely and Liam O'Kelly-Lynch netting in the opening few minutes. A pointed free by Roan Conneely gave us a seven point advantage. However Benbulben Gaels gradually got into the game scoring 1-3 on the trot to leave them just a point in arrears. In an entertaining last 10 minutes of the half we outscored our opponents by two points, thanks to a brace of Conneely points and well taken points by Ben Smyth and midfield dynamo Niall Campbell, to give us a three point advantage at the interval, 2-5 to 1-5. The second half was equally as enthralling as the two well matched sides gave their all to try to secure victory. Points from the sticks of the mercurial Connelly (2) and the hard-working Liam O'Kelly-Lynch matched three Benbulben Gaels efforts to ensure that we maintained our three point half-time advantage to secure the title on a 2-8 to 1-8 scoreline.  Darragh Cawley deserves special mention for his many great saves. Defenders Darragh Feehily, Donal Keaveney and Arron Mulvey were also impressive.    Team: Darragh Cawley, Paul Gallagher, Donal Keaveney, Darragh Feehily, Aaron Mulvey, Roan Conneely, Niall Campbell, Cathal Corcoran, Liam O'Kelly-Lynch, Fergal O'Kelly-Lynch, Ben Smyth. Subs: Michael Morgan, Aidan Campbell, Anthony Fidgeon, Ross Walsh.

Our U12 hurlers drew 7-7 with Tubbercurry in a very exciting league game played in a wet Kilcoyne Park on Tuesday. The sides were level 4-4 at half-time. Robert O'Kelly-Lynch was our scorer-in-chief. Others to shine were Brendan Munnelly, John Corcoran, James Golden and Stefan Roche. Team: Shea O'Neill, Stefan Roche, Brendan Munnelly, Ross Clifford, Adam Connolly, James Golden, Conor Mostyn, Robert O'Kelly-Lynch, John Corcoran, Ronan Niland, Daire Mostyn, Adam Kenny, Conor Golden, Treasa O'Kelly-Lynch. Next game for the U12s will be against Benbulben Gaels in Kent Park on Tuesday (31st May).

Well done to the Sligo senior hurling team and management who have qualified for the final of the Lory Meagher Cup following a quality 1-22 to 2-5 win over neighbours Leitrim in the last round robin game. Our own Matt Davey slammed home a fine goal and Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch also scored for the winning side. The final v Louth will throw in at 1.30pm in Croke Park on Saturday 4th June and will be a repeat of the Nicky Rackard Cup Final of 2008 when Sligo won with a fine performance. A similar result would be a fitting reward for Declan Loughnane and his talented team. We encourage all club members and Sligo gaels to support the lads in Croke Park.
