Sligo made light work of the students as the result was never in doubt for Niall Carew’s side as they notched their first goal of the match when Brian Egan finished the ball to the back of the net on 17 minutes. During the opening half Adrian Marren who scored four points in the opening half looked lively along with Stephen Coen and Padraic Clarke. GMIT only scored once in the entire match which came from a free on the 30th minute through Christopher Donnellan.

Sligo lead at the break 1-11 – 0-1 and they dominated throughout the second half and Stephen Coen looked to very sharp as he scored three second half goals as Sligo eased to victory in the second half . Next up for Sligo is a meeting with Leitrim in final game of the campaign.
