St John’s Lotto

The Lotto draw took place in The Blue Lagoon, Riverside on Saturday 18th. The numbers drawn were 20, 21, 22, 25 and there was no winner of the E10,400 Jackpot. The winners of the consolation prizes were Gene Flynn, Cairns Hill;  Katrina, c/o Cannings House and Garden, Cornageeha ; Celine Clerkin, Rusheen Ard ; Frances Kelly, Cranmore. Congratulations to all the winners. The next draw will take place on Saturday April 1st. Draw tickets can be purchased in Mc Morrow’s Shop, Cairns Rd. ; Crozon Inn  ; Clifford Electrical, Carraroe ; The Blue Lagoon, Riverside ; Canning’s  House and Garden, Cornageeha  and Molly Fulton’s Restaurant, Carraroe.  

Under Age Coaching

Starting on Saturday next March 25th and on every Saturday until 1st July football coaching will be provided by qualified coaches from 10.00 to 11.30 on the Cleveragh GAA pitch ( Opposite the Sports Complex ). The age groups catered for are U8 and U10 Boys and U8, U10 and U12 Girls.    The Under 12 Boys coaching will be held on Monday evenings from 6.00 to 7.00 beginning on Mon March 27th.  New players are very welcome to join. Club members must reside in the Parishes of St Annes or Carraroe which is the club area irrespective of which Primary School the child attends.

Senior Football

The Dara Mc Garty- managed, Burns Car Sales- sponsored  senior team got off to a great start in the Benson Cup with a    5 -16 to 1 – 5  victory over Owenmore Gaels in Stenson Park on St Patricks Day. The team on duty was N O’Donnell; E Roche, D Burke, A Clerkin; R Fahy, O Cox, S Kilcawley; D Rooney, S Stenson; C Greene, B Mc Gowan, C Jordan; D Smith, I Rossiter, R Gordon; R Galvin, C Keaney, J Reilly . The next outing for the team is on Sat next  March 25th at 5.00 away to Easkey.

Under 14 Football  

The Under 14 Boys team commence their league campaign on Sunday next 26th at 11.00 against Eastern Harps in Stenson Park, Carraroe. Many thanks to Liam Kelly and Clement Devaney of K&D Developments who have sponsored  a set of jerseys for the team for the coming season. The best of luck to the team and management for the coming year.

Congratulations and well done to all the club members – young and not-so-young – who took part in the Sligo St Patrick’s Day Parade. This was a gallant first effort for our club and many thanks to all who took part on a day that was not made for marching.
