It was a busy week on the playing field for the club. On Monday last the under 16 St. Farnan's /St. Pat's team had a very comfortable win over Calry/ St. Joseph's in the B league on a score of 5-21 to 3-5. On Tuesday the under 12 team were defeated by neighbours Easkey by 21 to 9 and this week also lost to St. Pat's. On Wednesday Easkey /St. Farnan's under 16 hurlers lost to Tooreen in the first round of the Táin league by 4-7 to 0-12. The following evening our under 14 football team were defeated by a very strong St. Michael's team, losing 7-18 to 1-1. On Sunday the intermediate team played Coolera/ Strandhill in the first round of the league but were defeated 1-11 to 0-8. St. Farnan's got the first score, a point from James Hynes. It was Coolera who made the most of the wind in the first half and led 1-5 to 0-2 at the break. Farnan's only other score came from Finnian Cawley. Coolera got the first two points after the break. St. Farnan's worked harder in the second half but could not make inroads into Coolera's lead. Both James Weir and Kevin Mc Gee were introduced in the second half, making their debut on the intermediate team. The team was S. Healy, D. Taylor, P. Culkin, C. Gordon, J. Quinn, M. Lang, E. Kilgannon, M. Mulligan (0-1), Andrew Mc Munn (0-1), J. Hynes(0-1), F. Cawley (0-3(1f), S. Neary, L. Ryan, R. Mc Coombe, C. O'Connor (0-2(1f). Subs used: G. Calpin, Adrian Mc Munn, James Weir, Kevin Mc Gee.
The under 16 St. Farnan's /St. Pat's team defeated Enniscrone on Monday.
Well done to the under 12 football team and manager Oisín Connolly on a great day out in Croke Park on Thursday. The team played three games on the pitch in the Go Games and then got a tour of Croke Park. The boys who played were Kyle Mulligan, Sean Óg Connolly, Conor Lang, Aaron Neary, James Golden, Matthew Conlon, Darragh Toolan, Christopher Lee Carey, Cody Gavin, Callum Mc Kay, Luke Ginty, Mattie and Donnacha Mc Gowan.
The minor team face St. Mary's in Kent Park at 6.30 on Thursday, the under 14 Easkey / St. Farnan's hurlers play Tourlestrane in Easkey on Friday at 7pm,the intermediate team play Owenmore Gaels on Friday at 6.30 in Connolly Park, the under 16 hurlers play Sylane in Easkey at 2pm on Saturday, the intermediate team play away to St. John's on Sunday and the under 16 hurlers play Tubbercurry on Monday at 7 pm in Easkey.
The intermediate team have been drawn in the group with Geevagh and Easkey for the intermediate championship.

A reminder that The Tractor Run takes place on Sunday, April 23rd at 2pm from Templeboy Hall. A reminder also that membership is now overdue and should be paid promptly. All players must be members of the club to comply with G. A. A. rules.
