Senior

Mixed Easter Weekend For Senior Teams:

The Senior Ladies recorded a comprehensive win on Sunday over Coolera/Strandhill on a score line of 6-14 to 1-2. This was a strong team performance by the Gaels. Next week see's the team away to Curry. Well done girls

The Men’s Team were on the wrong side of two matches this weekend in the Division Two League. On Friday they were at home to St. Farnans, and on Sunday they travelled out the Ballina road to face Castleconnor.

Friday - Division 2 result: Owenmore Gaels 3-8 St. Farnans 0-19

The senior men suffered a disappointing loss at Connolly Park this evening with Farnans running out 2 point winners.
In truth the scoreline flatters us as farnans dominated the game before a few goals in a spirited last quarter brought us back in contention. Unfortunately a flat opening period left us with too much to do.
Shorn of a number of first team members through injury our youthful team (7 of last year's minor finalists started) struggled in the middle third particularly.
We travel to Castleconnor on Sunday looking for improvement.

Team: Gavin Phelan, Gareth Lavin, Jason Farrell, Bryan McPartland, Kevin Healy (0-2), Shane Maye (Michael Casey (1-0)), Peter Wynne (Kevin O'Hara), Brian Mahon, Derek Lynch, Ronan Sweeney, Pa Murphy, Ross Farrell (0-1), Ryan Philips, Aaron Nicholson (1-4), Adrian Egan (0-1) (Rory Dillon (1-0))
Subs: Shane Kerr, Niall O'Donnell, Niall Hodgins, Tony Fox

Sunday – Division 2 result: Castleconnor 1-14 Owenmore Gaels 1-7

Leading at half time 1-4 to 0-6 with a breeze advantage, our Men’s team fatigued in the last 5 minutes to an unanswered goal and two points from Castleconnor. It was a courageous display by an injury strung squad. See facebook page for full match report.

The Mens next fixture is at home to St. Johns, next Sunday at 2pm. All Support will be greatly appreciated.
