Minor Team’s League success

Pride of place in our club this week goes to our Minor team who enjoyed success on Thurs evening last in the Centre of Excellence, Scarden when they comprehensively overcame the challenge of Castleconnor  on a scoreline of  3-17 to 1-5  to win the Div 3 league final. Having lost out to Castleconnor earlier in the league St Johns went into the game as underdogs but they showed a great attitude and spirit as they followed their mentors instructions to a tee while producing so top class football. The defence was solid throughout conceding very little and our midfield worked hard throughout, tracking back to help out  the defence and going forward to support the attack. The forward line had their shooting boots on scoring a very impressive 3-17 with most of it from open play. Well done to the whole panel and the management team of Gerard Egan, Charlie Jordan and Martin Keaney for this great victory and we hope it augers well for the upcoming championship. St Johns line was Jack Doyle; Dualta Holmes, Adam Scanlon; Jack Sayers, Shane Egan; Ryan Gorman, Adam Grace; Jack Walsh, Senan Kelly; Joe Spratt , Ronan Mc Goldrick. Subs; Paddy Hansbury, Daire Fleming, Dara Sommers, Cathal Byrne, Dillon Lynch-Mc Morrow, JJ Mc Gowan, Keelan Davey.
