Under 16 Championship

Our under 16 footballers welcome Castleconnor to Stenson Park, Cuilbeg this Monday evening for their Round 2 Championship game at 7.00 .Having drawn with Shamrock Gaels in Coola in the last round our boys will be keen to get back on the winning trail.

Minor Championship

Our minor team, due to the unavailability of players were unable to fulfil their fixture against Coolera-Strandhill last week and had to concede to their opponents. We hope for better luck on Aug 24th  when they are at home to Geevagh/St Michaels in Round 2 and on Sept 15th when they play St Patricks in Dromard.

Under 14 Championship

Our K & D Developments-sponsored Under 14 team play the final game in their group when they travel to Easkey to take on the home team on next Friday Aug 18th.

Under 12 Boys

Our U.12 team travelled to Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry to take on the Tubbercurry-Cloonacool in the semi final of the Shield Competition on Tuesday last and put on a fine performance before going down narrowly to the home team in a very exciting game. It is great to see the way these players have improved since the start of the year and a big thanks is due to the coaches who have worked so hard and also to the parents for all their help and encouragement

Intermediate Championship

On Sat next Aug 12 our senior team began their campaign in the Intermediate championship on Sat evening last when they travelled out West to St Brendan’s Park, Castleconnor to take on Enniscrone-Kilglass who were fresh from their Div 3 League winning success. The St Johns team got off to a great start and by have time they had built up a commanding lead of 1-13 to 0-6. During the first 10 mins of the second half they added a further 1-4 without reply but then for some reason they seemed to switch off and failed to add another score for the final 20 mins while their opponents clocked up a further 1-8 to leave the final score at St Johns 2-17 to Enniscrone/Kilglass 1-14. St Johns next fixture in this group is on Sept 2nd against St Patricks. St Johns lineout on Sat was N O’Donnell; A Clerkin, E Roche, N Hayes; O Cox(0-1), P Mc Namara,N Walsh(0-1); J Murphy, D Rooney(0-1); M Rooney, B Mc Gowan(0-4), D Smith; A Keane(1-8), R Mc Manus(1-0), F Grennan(0-2); C Mc Govern, D Burke,S Kilcawley, R Fahy, C Jordan, T Kelly, C Hough, J Gethins,A Kerr.

Under 12 Girls

Our u.12 girls team completed their championship campaign when they took on near neighbours St Marys in a highly entertaining contest. Our girls played great football for long periods but ran out of steam in the final quarter with the home team running out victors by 4 points.

Under 10 Girls

Our Under 10 girls team took part in a very successful Blitz competition in Tubbercurry on Sat last and had a fine day winning four of their 5 games and only going down by a point in their 5th game. This group of players have shown great potential and have improved greatly since the start of the season. If their rate of progress can be maintained a bright future is in store for girls football in our club. This is largely due to the time and commitment given by their coaches and for this we owe them a great debt of gratitude
