SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: -

We have reached our 5th County Final with a great team performance  against Tourlestrane.   The half-back line laid the foundations for the success. Aidan Morrison gave an excellent performance in midfield and  contributed to 3 goals.  Our forward line gave an exhibition of point scoring, led by our marauding winger, Eamon Kilgannon., who finished with 6 points from play. The excellent Alan Cawley  plundered 9 points from play.    TEAM: Morgan Fitzsimons, Michael Connolly, Gareth Ryan, Thomas Cawley, Fergal Ryan, Daniel Kirby, James Hynes, Aidan Morrison, Liam Ryan, Sean Carrabine, M J Crean, Eamon Kilgannon (6 p), Joe McHugh (1 p F), Michael McGowan. Alan Cawley (9 p).  Subs used:- Cormac Hallinan,  Tom Mahon, Derek O'Boyle, Ollie Gordan, Eanna Moylan.

DERMOT MOLLOY LEAGUE:-

Western Gaels 1.11 .................Castlebar 0.11

On Sunday last in Enniscrone we qualified for the later stages of the above competition with a 3 point win, over a depleted Castlebar team, who had exited the Mayo championship the previous week.

COUNTY BOARD:-

We would like to thank Joe Taffe and the officers for their cooperation towards the smooth running of the Championship, as we appreciate how difficult  this is,  as fixtures have to be arranged around 4 clubs in our catchment area. We also appreciate the fact that the final is arranged as a supporting match of the main club event of the year.

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL FINAL:-

We wish St Farnans best wishes on Sunday in the final. We also thank Gerry Connolly and his coaching team for full cooperation in working with us in preparing both teams for the final.

We also very much appreciate the cooperation  of Castleconnor, Easkey, & Enniscrone/Kilglass clubs,  and in particular the latter for the use of their excellent facilities.

COUNTY FINAL: -

We would welcome and look forward to  support of all West Sligo  people (and beyond) at the Final.
