U21s Bow Out

Our U21 footballers’ run in the championship came to end last Saturday at Oxfield when they went down to Shamrock Gaels In the county ‘B’ championship semi-final on a final scoreline of 2-16 to 1-6. We were without the injured Cian Lally (broken foot). Just two points separated the teams at half-time (0-6 to 0-4) but Shamrock Gaels took control in the second half and ran out convincing winners. Zero2Hero

A stellar line-up of GAA personalities will be part of the club’s big fundraising event for 2017 - the Zero2Hero Night in the Radisson Hotel on Thursday, November 30th. The event, which is being organised by our senior men’s footballer squad, will feature lively interviews and discussion with an invited panel, followed by a fundraising auction. Each member of our senior panel is donating items for the auction. Details of these are available on the club’s Facebook page. The event begins at 7pm and admission is €10. Tickets can be purchased in advance, and are available from any club officer.

Sligo U15s

There were three DRP footballers on the 43-strong Sligo county U15 development squad which went on a training weekend Banna Resort in Co Kerry recently. Eoghan Smith, Ian O'Brien & Lee Cummins were the trio. The Sligo squad was given a fantastic talk by Kieran Donaghy, and the lads presented him with a coveted Sligo jersey afterwards.
