A long football season came to a thrilling conclusion at Markievicz Park on Sunday last as our U16 Boys  secured the A Championship title with a well deserved 1-12 to 1-08 victory over Eastern Harps. It was a fantastic team performance for the side managed by Ownie Coyle, Blair Foley and Eugene Gillen. The teams were level 0-06 to 1-03 at the interval with James Heraghty at full forward contributing a number of fine points. In the second half  Gaels really showed their qualities with every Player contributing hugely. Oisin Sheridan and Joe Keaney at centrefield took control of this sector of the pitch and gave their colleagues in the forward lines plenty of possession. A goal from Shane Towey in the 50th minute proved the crucial score and despite Eastern Harps best efforts it was Gaels captain Ethan Watters who  received the Cup from County Board Vice Chairman  and St Molaise Gaels Club man Johnny Watters. Well done to the entire Panel and Management Team on this success which added to similar championship wins at U14 level as well as our U11 Boys winning their competition shows the hard work going at at Bord na nOg level within the Club
