St. Farnan's GAA Club notes
The club held a very successful Presentation Night in the Beach Bar on Friday night last.Runner up medals we're presented to the Minor and Intermediate teams by special guest Aidan Rooney. Aidan gave a very inspirational speech at the event and offered great words of encouragement and support to the players and the club. Aidan presented the following awards- Minor Player of the Year: James Weir; Most Committed Minor Player of the Year: Simon Mullarkey; Junior Player of the Year: Stephen Feeney; Young Intermediate Player of the Year: Mark Devaney; Intermediate Player of the Year: Sean Healy.
Congratulations to all the players and award winners. A big thank you to Aidan Rooney for his presence. Thanks to all involved in the organisation of the night and to The Beach Bar and staff for their hospitality.
Congratulations to Josephine Kilgannon, winner of €197 in the 50/50 draw. The next draw is on January 14th.
The club are planning two major fundraisers this year, in March and November. A Blue and White Boxing Night will take place in March. If anyone is interested in getting involved please contact any club officer.
The club need a team of 4 under 17's to take part in the Scór na nÓg Table Quiz on Sunday, Jan 7th in Coolaney at 3pm.
Best wishes to Patrick O'Connor and Finnian Cawley who line out with Sligo in the opening round of the FBD league against Galway on Wednesday at 7pm in Tourlestrane.
The club extends sympathy to the families, relatives and friends of the late Doreen Conlon and Graham Sweeney. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh siad.
