Ballymote Intermediate team won our clubs first piece of silver wear this year by beating Eastern Harps in the Abbott Cup final in Bunninadden last Sunday.  Celebrations were somewhat subdued as half forward Stephen Ross needed to be stretchered off and taken to hospital by ambulance due to a serious concussion.  We wish Stephen well in his recovery.

Once Niall Brennan, Peter Lyons and Mark Irwin found some space they punished Eastern Harps by scoring 2-7 between in the first 20 mins. Points followed from Stephen Ross and Oisin Conlon and Ballymote led at half time 2-11 to 1-5.  Second half Ballymote out played Eastern Harps and with Michael Rafferty and Michael Doddy in control of midfield  points followed from Niall Brennan, Peter Lyons and Mark Irwin.  Jack Hever replaced the injured Stephen Ross and put this contest beyond doubt with a well taken goal. Team Michael Flannery, Sean Stagg (Colm McCann), Danny Clarke, Kenny Meehan BC (Dylan Martin), Oisin Conlon 0-2, Robbie Flannery (Malachy Healy), Ciaran McGrath (Shane Langton), Michael Doddy, Michael Rafferty 0-1, Colin Byrne, Stephen Ross 0-1 (Jack Hever 1-0), Gabriel Rafferty (Marty Underwood), Peter Lyons 1-6, Niall Brennan 0-6, Mark Irwin 1-4.  Gerry Feely, Conor Mcgettrick, Adam Cunnane.  Managed and trained by Paul O Grady, Des Leonard and Jim Gallagher.
