are on the Move!
St. Marys GAA club are launching an innovative and exciting
“24 Hour Relay Run” Fundraiser.
The event aims to get all the community involved in a
fun and healthy physical activity.
Participants of all fitness levels are welcome, as
participants can either run, jog or walk their 2 x 1-hour legs of the 24
hour event which will be based in Mitchell Curley Park.
The event will start at 7pm on Friday 14th
September will continue through the night and will finish at 7pm Saturday 15th
September.
Niall Murray, St.Marys, Bord na nÓg chairperson commented
“this is a great opportunity for all members of our community, both young and
old to participate in a fun team-based activity. The event has two main aims,
one being to promote health and wellbeing in our community and also to act as a
fundraiser for our underage teams.”
St. Mary’s GAA Club will be launching the event on Friday 20th
of July at 9pm in the Clubhouse and all members of the community are invited,
especially those who are not involved in the club but have an interest in
fitness or improving their health.
There will be some special guests attending on the night to
give some advice and tips on the benefits of exercise and suggested training
plans.
