Ballymote GAA Club notes

Intermediate team suffered defeat in the first round of Intermediate championship last Sunday against Shamrock Gaels in Bunninadden. Turning point of this game was the sending off of Ballymote‚Äôs Robbie Flannery after 22 mins.  Ballymote battled on in the second half but again saw another sending off with Niall Brennan taking an early shower.   Shamrock Gaels got 2 goals at the end of the game, flattering their scoreline. Final score Ballymote 0-8   Shamrock Gaels 2-13. Team M Flannery. C McCann (S Langton), K Meehan, O Conlon, M Healy 0-1, M Doddy, R Flannery, M Rafferty, N Colsh 0-2 (Colin Byrne), N Brennan 0-2, D Tighe (A Caffrey), A Cunnane (M Irwin 0-2), J Hever 0-1 (G Brennan), G Rafferty, M Underwood (S Stagg).  A break next weekend and following weekend Ballymote take on Curry in Bunninadden.

 

U 14 team played St Molaise Gaels in the 1st round of championship last Friday in Ballymote.  St Molaise Gaels got off to a great start with 4 goals in the first half, leading 4-6 to B/B 0-7 at half time.  Second half B/B dominate more but could not break down their defence.  Final score Ballymote/Bunninadden 1-12 St Molaise Gaels 6-12. Team Mark Scanlon, Gerard O Brien (Cormac Finn), Mathew Hunt, Garret Scanlon, Evan Cunnane, Shane Rafferty, Ben Clavin 1-0, Eoin Frain, Luke Marren 0-10, Thomas Sweeney, Oisin Brennan 0-1, Michael Kearins, James Kilcoyne, Mathew Gallagher (Emmet Finan), Darragh Brehony. Subs James Healy. Next game is against Calry/St Josephs 17th August at 7pm in Hazelwood.

U 14/12/11 Ballymote/Bunninadden teams will make a trip to Croke Park for the  All-Ireland semi final next Sunday. An enjoyable day out for our future stars.

U 16 play St Molaise Gaels in Grange 6th August at 7pm and they will hope to but behind the the disappointment of losing against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point last Monday.

U 8/10 blitz last week was cancelled due to weather and will be rearranged this week.
