Geevagh started the brighter and were 4 points to 1 up after 10mins. 3 frees from Kenneth Sweeney and 1 from play by Donal Conlon got Geevagh off to the dream start. Sean Colleary opened the Curry scoring with a point from play. Adrian Marren 2 frees and John Feeney a point from play brought the teams level after 18 minutes. Kenneth Sweeney popped over 2 frees for Geevagh. Curry then got on top and scores from Sean Davey, Red Óg Murphy a free and a 45 by Adrian Marren left the score Curry 10 pts and Geevagh 06pts at half time.
Geevagh began the second half very brightly scoring 2 points Pat Hughes from play and Kenneth Sweeney from a free.
Curry then hit a purple patch and points by Red Óg Murphy and Adrian Marren was followed by a goal by Red Óg. Geevagh refused to back down and they were awarded a penalty which Kenneth Sweeney scored. Curry got the next 3 scores - points form Sean Davey, John Feeney and Red Óg Murphy. Geevagh came again with a well taken goal from Pat Hughes, this score set up a nail biting finish. Curry however held their heads and were rewarded with points from Denis Coffey, Adrian Marren and Red Óg Murphy.
Curry held on and ran out 4 point winners, this was a very entertaining game played on a wonderful pitch in Cloonacool.
