Intermediate
Our
Intermediate team got their championship campaign off to a winning start with a
two-point win over Castleconnor at Tourlestrane last Sunday, 1-10 to 0-11. A
Shane Hargadon goal in the first half ensured a 1-6 to 0-6 half-time lead and
the lads won out by two in the end. They will meet St Patrick’s in round two on
Saturday week, August 18th, in Castleconnor.
Minor
The
Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team received a walkover from Ballymote/Bunninadden
last Friday. They host Shamrock Gaels on Thursday evening in Quigabar at 7pm.
U-16
The
Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey U-16s play Castleconnor this evening (bank holiday
Monday) at 7pm in Quigabar. They beat Shamrock Gaels last week by a single
point, 5-7 to 2-15.
U-14
Our U-14s lost
out to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in their first championship encounter, 7-8 to
3-5, at Oxfield last Friday evening. They play Tourlestrane in the second round
on Friday week, August 17th.
County final
Due to
ongoing works at Markievicz Park, it was confirmed recently that the Sligo
Senior Football Championship final will be held at Quigabar on Sunday, October
14th. This promises to be a wonderful occasion for the club and area
and we look forward to welcoming Gaels from across the county to our grounds
for the biggest day in the club calendar.
Mothers and Others blitz
Well done
to the Enniscrone/Kilglass Mothers and Others on participating in a blitz held
in Bonniconlon last Saturday.
Club lapel pins
There are a
limited number of lapel pins showcasing the club crest – and importantly the
correct spelling of Enniscrone as Gaeilge agus as Béarla – available at
present. They are a quality item that would make a great present, and also show
your support for the upcoming plebiscite on the town name. They are available
from any committee member for €10.
Blotto
The blotto
continues every Sunday night. Your support is greatly appreciated.
