Anne Cawley RIP

The St Johns club community were greatly saddened last week when news broke of the passing of Anne Cawley, Caltragh, mother of our club secretary, Sarah Mc Namara and adored nanna to Paul, Michelle and Barry. The club provided a guard of honour at her removal to St Annes Church. The club extend sincere sympathy to the Cawley and Mc Namara families on their sad loss. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Senior Football

On Sunday afternoon, in The Centre of Excellence in Scarden, our Burns Cars-Skoda-sponsored senior team met neighbours Calry-St Josephs and finished up on the wrong side of a 1-12 to 0-10 scoreline. Our lads showed well in the first half and led by 0-6 to 0-5 at half time, but despite their best efforts gradually Calry got on top to win by the 5 points margin. This defeat leaves St Johns at the foot of the group table and consequently into the relegation playoffs in the coming weeks

Junior Football

Our Junior team got off to a great start in the Junior B Championship in Stenson Park on Friday last when they defeated visitors Coolaney-Mullinabreena by a goal on a 4-9 to 3-9 scoreline. Well done to the players and management

Under 14 Boys Football
