Kennedys Intermediate Football Championship
Curry v Ballymote was played in terrible conditions in Bunninadden on Saturday evening at 7pm. Curry opened the scoring with 2 pointed frees by Adrian Marren. Ballymote got their first score with a point from a free by Mark Irwin. Jonathan Durkin scored a point from play for Curry, scores by Mark Irwin from two frees and Adrian Marren from four frees kept the score board ticking over. As the game approached half time a long ball into the Curry goal mouth was fielded by Gerry Brennan and he rifled the ball into the Curry net. Half time score Curry 7 points Ballymote 1 - 3.
The second half started in a downpour with darkness descending but Ballymote got a dream start with a goal from play by Peter Mullen. the next 15 minutes Ballymote controlled the game and a shock result looked on the cards. Eventually Curry got to grips with the game and points by Tommy Henry, 1 point, 3 from Adrian Marren, Jason Marren 1 and OisÃn Higgins 1 point finally got Curry leading the game by 4 points. Mark Irwin and Dylan Martin scored two frees for Ballymote to leave the final score Curry 13 points and Ballymote 2- 5
