It’s certainly been a great week in the club following on from the ladies county title and the senior men’s 3-in-a-row, the triple was secured by a mighty minor lads team who showed great heart and a will to win attitude throwing everything at it in a splendid second half performance having gone in mid way trailing by a point to Tubbercurry (5 points to 1/3) The lads broke away scoring 3 goals and another 7 points after the obvious pep talk by Neil and Eamon at the break to finish 3/12 to Tubbercurry’s 1/4. What a sweet victory to add the third county title in the week and well done to all. It was not to be the case 2 nights later for our u21 lads who lost out to Easkey/EnniscroneKilglass.
The ladies had little time to relish the county win of last Saturday before they braved the Wild West to face hosts Cill Chomain in Belmullet Saturday at 1 o clock and to rapturous applause and the roar of the many hardy supporters who travelled out to the finest display of football this year to quote one of the crowd the girls cruised home to book themselves a place in the Connacht Final in 3 weekstime ! Well done to the team and David Enda and Leo and thank you to all who travelled out support them .
We wish the best of luck to our minor lads who play their Connacht Quarter final next Friday night v Ballinamore/Sean O Heslins at 7pm in the Connacht centre of excellence . Don’t forget for those who dare The Banada Banshee Bash takes place as usual for Halloween next weekend 26th -28th !
