Congratulations

We say congratulations and well done to our club Chairman Seamus Casey on being chosen as the Connacht provincial winner for the GAA Healthy Club Hero Award. He has been awarded for the great leadership he showed in implementing the Healthy Club model and making our club and community a healthier place for everyone to enjoy. Since joining our club only a few short years ago Seamus, originally from Offaly but brought to Sligo by his west Sligo wife Caroline, has become the leader of so many good initiatives in the club including the production of our 30 year anniversary booklet, the Operation Transformation activities which got so many members of our community involved in healthy pastimes and other events which bring our club more into the community. All in the club thank Seamus for his great contribution and leadership. He is a truly worthy winner of this award and he was presented with his award at a ceremony in Croke Park on Saturday last.

Thanks

A huge thanks to all club members who joined with the soccer and athletics clubs in helping out with car parking and stewarding at the funeral our late member Joe Davey RIP last week. Your assistance was greatly appreciated.

Sympathies

The sympathies of the St Johns club are extended to the families of Martin Kearns RIP, Markievicz Heights and Walter Marren RIP, Carrowgubatha, on their recent deaths
