Dinner Dance
We enjoyed
a great night at our club dinner dance in the Diamond Coast Hotel last Saturday
evening. With a large crowd in attendance, we were delighted to welcome Tyrone’s
three-time All-Ireland winner and five-time All-Star Sean Cavanagh as our
special guest. It was a busy evening of presentations, with our U-16 and minor
teams both receiving their medals following their 2018 successes. On the
individual awards front, former club chairman and long-time supporter Jackie
Gallagher was the popular recipient of the Hall of Fame award, while Noel
Sheridan and Fergus Sweeney received a joint Club Persons of the Year award following
their remarkable fundraising exploits in London on behalf of the club last
year. Intermediate team goalkeeper Greg Regan was chosen as the Player of the
Year and corner-back Eoghan Bourke received the new Young Player of the Year
award, which has been introduced in memory of the late Joe McManus. The night
also featured presentations to the Mothers and Others group who have added so
much to the club since their foundation: Audrey Garvey was the Player of the
Year, Andrea Gilroy was the Most Improved Player, Donna Mullaney was chosen as
the Most Dedicated Player and Club Person of the Year was Roisin Moyles. Our
sincere thanks to our guest Sean who spoke to the crowd and was very generous
with his time for pictures before and after; to everyone who attended and to
the Diamond Coast Hotel for their customary fantastic hospitality. We look
forward now to the new season in the hope that it will be a successful one for
the club.
