Our women’s intermediate footballers made a winning start to the 2019 season with a comprehensive 9-6 to 2-7 win against St Michael’s at Oxfield in the Spring Cup warm-up competition last Sunday morning. Mike Healy’s side will play their opening Division 2 league game this coming Sunday morning (March 31st) at home to Sharmock Gaels. Throw-in: 10:30am.  The ladies are in a six-team division this season along with Eoghan Rua, Curry, Owenmore Gaels and St Michael’s.

Well done to all our club players involved with the Sligo ladies team who beat Offaly last Sunday in Tullamore in Division 3. A win against Kildare in two week’s time will secure a league semi-final spot.

The senior men’s footballers were beaten after extra-time by Owemore Gaels  in their Benson Cup quarter-final last Saturday, on a final scoreline of 1-11 to 0-12. They begin their division 2 campaign this Sunday afternoon against St Farnan’s in Oxfield at 2pm.

Our boys U16 footballers lost their opening league match in Group 2 last Sunday to Ballymote/Bunninadden on a final scoreline of 3-18 to 0-8. They play Geevagh/St Michael’s next Monday evening in Oxfield at 6:30pm.

Saturday morning coaching for our younger footballers born between 2009 and early 2015 continues this Saturday at Rathcormac NS (outdoors).
