North London Shamrocks
Next Friday
sees our club welcome the young footballers from North London Shamrocks to take
part in a festival of football at Stenson Park at U9, U11, U13 and U15 age
groups for both girls and boys. Along with North London Shamrocks we welcome
teams from Drumkeeran and Melvin Gaels (Leitrim), Parke (Mayo), Calry St
Josephs and Curry form Sligo who will take part in what promises to be a great
days entertainment. The games,(11-a-side, 13 min a half) will be played
simultaneously on eight pitches in Cuilbeg with the proceedings beginning with
a parade of teams at 10.00 am. A big thanks to St Johns FC for giving us the
use of their pitch. This is a major undertaking for our club and all members
who are available to help out on the days before the event or on Sat are asked
to come along. A big Social event will take place on Sat night in The Riverside
Hotel for the players and their parents who are travelling in large numbers so
please come along for an enjoyable night.
Under 14 Girls Football
Our Under 14
girls team began their league campaign with an exciting victory over Eastern
harps in Gurteen last week. The team performed very well and have improved
greatly since last year. Well done to the girls and their management.
Minor Boys Football
Our minor
footballers, amalgamated with neighbours Owenmore Gaels, travel to West Sligo
to take on Castleconnor on Friday next April 12th.
Under 16 Boys Football
Our Under 16
Boys were away to neighbours Calry St Josephs in Hazelwood on Mon evening and
will welcome Eastern Harps to Stenson Park on Mon 15th.
Under 14 Boys Football

team play Tourlestrane in Stenson Park on Thurs April 11th with the
throw-in at 6.30pm
Under 12 Boys Football
Our two
Under 12 teams travelled to Keash to play Eastern Harps on this Tuesday last in
Divisions 1 and 3 and came away with mixed fortunes as Our Div 3 team had a
fine victory winning by 0 – 17 to 0 – 8 while in the Div 1 fixture the Harps
came out on to by 0 – 21 to 0 – 8. On
Tues April 16th we welcome neighbours St Marys to Cuilbeg for Div 1
and 3 games.
St Johns Lotto
The St Johns
yearly Lotto tickets are now due for renewal and the official launch will take
place in The Riverside Hotel on Sat 13th. All tickets and money are
to be returned to the finance committee by Fri 12th or earlier as
there is quite an amount of administration work to be done. We are asking all
parents, coaches and club members to buy or sell 1 ticket at E50. This entitles
you to entry to 26 fortnightly draws for a present Jackpot of E13,150 The next
draw will take place in The Riverside Hotel at 10.30pm on Saturday April 13th.
Tickets at E2 each or 3 for E5 can be purchased in Clifford Electrical,
Carraroe; The Blue Lagoon, Riverside; Gerry Mc Morrow’s Mace Shop, Cairns Rd; Molly

Johns Nursery Football Coaching Program for 5 and 6 year old Boys and Girls will begin
on Sat May 11th from 10.30 to 11.30am at Cleveragh GAA Pitch – (
opposite the Sports Complex) The cost is E30 which include a free kit of

Sligo Leader Grant
We have been
granted a sum of money by the Sligo Leader Program to provide walking tracks
around our pitches which will prove a very useful facility for our community
and help people get exercise in a safe environment. A big thanks to Brian
Flynn, Terry Mc Nulty and Niall Gordon for their work on the grant application.
