Derek McGrath, the hugely popular former Waterford senior hurling manager, will be the special guest speaker as the Lory Meagher Cup-winning Sligo team from 2018 are honoured at a celebration function at the Clayton Hotel on Saturday, April 27th.

After captivating an audience of thousands as the keynote speaker at the GAA's annual Coaching Conference in Croke Park in January, Derek will make the long journey to Sligo to present the medals to the Sligo squad that captured the Lory Meagher Cup for the very first time in Croke Park in June of last year.

Having guided Waterford to a National League title and an appearance in the All-Ireland final during his , the Sligo GAA community are privileged to have a special guest of such passion, inspiration and distinction available to speak to Sligo GAA players, parents and coaches in what is sure to be an evening to remember.

The event is open to all, and tickets are available from any members of the victorious panel, from the Sligo GAA Centre in Scarden, from Shoot The Crows bar on Grattan Street in Sligo town, or from the Clayton Hotel.

Tickets are priced at €30 and this includes a sumptuous three-course meal at the ballroom in the Clayton, main sponsors of the Sligo senior hurling team for 2019.

The Sligo U17 hurling team that claimed victory in the national Celtic Challenge competition in 2018 will also be honoured by Derek on the night.
