Our ladies intermediate footballers began their 2019 club football championship last Sunday morning at Oxfield by playing out a 4-9 to 3-12 draw with Owenmore Gaels. DRP are in a six-team round robin competition along with Eoghan Rua, St Michael’s CT Gaels and Curry.  We play Eoghan Rua this Sunday morning (May 26th) in Oxfield at 10:30am.

Good luck to our girls under 16 footballers who play Calry/St Joseph’s in county ‘A’ league final this Wednesday evening at 8:15pm in IT Sligo. The team would appreciate big club support for this game.

The boys under 16 footballers also have a league final this week. They play Tubbercurry/Cloonacool in the Shield decider this Monday evening in Scarden at 7:15pm. Best of luck to the players and management.

We have no less than five club players involved with the Sligo ladies team who will take on Roscommon in the provincial intermediate final on June 23rd. We wish Michelle McNamara, Sinead Regan, Rachel Quigley, Oda Carty, Rachel Monaghan and the Sligo girls the very best of luck.

Commiserations to Neil Ewing and the Sligo men’s senior footballers on their Connacht championship exit last Sunday. Niall Canning was part of the Sligo junior academy team which played Galway in the curtain raiser.

Good luck to Eoghan Smith and Lee Cummins who are part of the Sligo minor football team who begin their Connacht minor football championship campaign against Galway this Friday evening in Tuam.

Thank you to everybody who supported the Féile under 14 car wash day last Sunday at Rathcormac. Our girls and boys under 14 footballers did trojan work in what was a valuable fundraiser for the All-Ireland Féile preparations. The club is very appreciate of the support given by Sligo Fire Service on the day too. View a picture gallery from the event on the club’s Facebook page.

Our junior men’s footballers begin their Division 4 league campaign this Saturday with a trip to Hazelwood to play Calry/St Joseph’s at 7pm.

Our senior men’s footballers continue their Division 2 campaign against St John’s this Sunday in Stenson Park at 12pm.

There was disappointment for the Benbulben Gaels U14 hurlers against Easkey last week. The DRP U12 hurlers play Tourlestrane in the league on Tuesday evening.

Saturday morning nursery coaching returns to Rathcormac this Saturday 25th at the usual times.

The club’s monthly meeting for May is scheduled for Monday 27th in Oxfield at 9pm.
