Senior  Football; On Sunday afternoon our senior team suffered a 1 – 13 to 0 – 8 defeat in their round 9 League game against Calry-St Josephs in Hazelwood and as a result they find themselves relegated to Div 3 for next year’s competition. The unavailability of the influential Charlie Harrison and Paul McNamara was a big setback and while those on duty tried hard they were always on the back-foot against a Calry side who have qualified for the League final. St Johns lineout N Hynes; J Sayers, C Sweeney, H Cawley; E Roche, M O’Hehir(0-1), A Scanlon; D Burke(0-2), J Murphy; S Stenson(0-1), R Mc Manus(0-2), B Mc Gowan(0-2); S Regan, F Greenan, I Rossitor; Subs used R Gordon and R Gorman. They team must now pick things up for the upcoming championship, which begins on the weekend of July 27/28th with a game against Enniscrone/Kilglass.
