Tubber started with a number of new faces due to injury and started the brighter with 2 points from frees from Jason Perry and David Kelly. That was as good as it got for them as Tourlestrane played their patient game and got back into it through frees from Cathal Henry and Liam Gaughan. A mis-directed kickout to the wing found Alan Dunne storming onto the ball laying off to Gary Gaughan who rounded the retreating Murphy and sidefooted the ball into the net. Honestly it was then game over. John Kelly and Kenny Gavaghan scored from play along with frees from Liam Gaughan and Henry. A good score by Cian Gilmartin operating at midfield before the break meant the half time score was 1-7 v 0-4 and Tubber having the wind in the second half.

Tubber never looked like they would trouble the champions in the second half and Tourlestrane were quiet happy to play keep ball. Gaughan and Henry scored frees that were won, Darragh Kilcoyne scored a 45 for Tubber. 2 points from play by Kelly and Perry near the end put a better look on the scoreline. Kelly was unlucky for a goal chance after breaking two tackles but Adrian McIntyre made an excellent block to maintain the clean sheet. From the resulting rebound the Tourlestrane keeper cleared. In the next break in play Tubber reduced to 14 but it made no difference to the result.

Even with the returning players it is hard to see anyone taking the title from Tourlestrane.
