Congratulations to our U12 Division 1 side who had a solid semi-final win against Curry last week and now qualify to contest the Division 1 final against St Pats on August 27th.   This final is being played in the Sligo Centre of Excellence in Scarden.   The Division 3 side was also in action in their semi-final which took place away in Oxfield to Drumcliffe Rosses Point.   After a high scoring match full of exciting football and commitment, the honours were shared at 14 scores apiece and the teams will have to wait another day to see who progresses to the final.   The replay is in Kent Park on this Thursday, and here’s hoping the lads go that step further.

The U16 Boys were in action as well last week and recorded an impressive victory over Owenmore Gaels on a scoreline of 6-11 to 2-09.   This coming week will see the U14 lads take to the field away to an Easkey/St Farnons combination.

On the ladies side of the Club, our U12’s continue their preparations for their Championship semi-final against CT Gaels which is scheduled for Friday 23rd, throw-in at 6.45pm.   The U14’s are out this Monday away to Coolera in what promises to be a good competitive match against close neighbours.   The U16 girls are will see action again on Monday August 26th when they play their penultimate group game away to St Nathys.   Unbeaten so far, the girls will be hoping for another win to nail down a place in the final.   The minor girls are in the A Championship and the Group stages look to be heading to a very interesting conclusion.   We are vying for second position with Calry and our remaining group match is against them.   To date both sides have 2 wins out of 3, so this outstanding tie will decide who progresses to meet Tourlestrane in the final.

The Senior men’s side play Tourlestrane in a critical Championship tie this coming weekend.   The game is in Cloonacool on Saturday evening with a 6.30pm throw-in.   After a slow start, the team is showing the form we know they have and have been buoyed by player availability.   Always a big challenge against Tourlestrane and good luck to everyone.

Saturday morning coaching continues and numbers again last Saturday were impressive despite not having the U10 girls who were guests of Owenmore Gaels for the afternoon.   The girls enjoyed great football against our hosts and squads from Curry, Calry and Coolera.   Thanks to all involved.

We wish to congratulate all those who received their leaving certificate results during last week and hope that these were to each person’s satisfaction.   Best wishes in the direction you are taking for the future.
