Easkey advanced to the semi final of the Intermediate championship where they will meet the winners of Curry/Bunninadden. Underfoot conditions were tough but there was no wind to speak of which meant the crowd got a good dose of the midges

It took 13 minutes for the first score of the game at which point Easkey had kicked 3 wides. Joe McHugh broke the deadlock followed by Dylan Sloyan. Enniscrone with a reply from a very acute angle by Shane Hargadon who was a constant source of concern for Easkey. At 20 minutes Easkey lead 0-3 v 0-2 but in the last 10 minutes Easkey finally started to find their range and went in at the break leading 0-7 v 0-2 with points from McHugh, Kieran Duffy and Niall Kilcullen. At half time it appeared that the game was as good as over and if Easkey had their shooting boots on it would have been, however Enniscrone did not give up. 

Easkey powered into the half with points from Sloyan, McHugh and an excellent long range point from Eugene Mullen. Enniscrone only response was a point from substitute Bradley Nealon and they trailed by 7 with 20 to play. Michael Moyles tapped over a free and from the kickout Robert Jacob dummied Noel Maguire and floated over another. Easkey replied with a free from Andrew Kilcullen. In the 15th to the 20th minute Enniscrone hit a purple patch and put the Easkey kickout under severe pressure and points from Mark Gordon, Nealon, Jacob and two from the impressive Hargadon to leave 2 in it with 8 to play. 

A counter attack from Easkey saw Rory McHugh go on one of his dizzying solo runs which ended with Enniscrone keeper fouling him. Mikey Gordon stepped up to shoot the penalty down the middle of the goal which was quickly followed by points from Brendan McGrath and Gordon free. The Enniscrone fightback was over.
