Pride of place this week goes to the Benbulben Gaels under 14 hurlers who lifted the county title last Friday evening in Scarden with a memorable 5-3 to 3-4 win against Naomh Eoin in Scarden. The team produced a terrific display not least midfielder maestro Michael Carroll who contibuted a hat-trick of goals. Congrats to all the players and management.

The DRP boys minor footballers have qualified for the ‘B’ championship final after a fine 1-10 to 0-11 win last Saturday against Geevagh/St Michael’s. The team trailed in this game for much of the hour but showed tremendous heart to turn the contest their way. We now play St Mary’s in the county final.

Our women's intermediate footballers scored a two-point victory against county intermediate champions St Michael's in Ballintogher on Sunday morning to stay top of Division 2 after three rounds of matches. It was a fine display from the team who were missing a number of regulars. One more win from their remaining two games will be enough to secure a league final place. Team: Rachel Quigley, Jayne McCormack, Avril Clancy, Orlaith Furey, Grace Casserly, Michelle McNamaraa, Kate Keyes, Denise Regan (0-1), Oda Carty, Róisín Healy (1-0), Amanda Healy (2-4), Megan Brady, Sinead Regan (0-2), Tara Donohoe, Laura Oates (2-0), Subs used: Molly Brady (0-2), Lisa Morrow, Sarah Kisby.

The under 13 footballers began their Feile league campaign on Sunday with a comprehensive 7-16 to 0-2 win against St Pat’s.

Our monthly club meeting takes place this Monday, Oct 7th in Oxfield at 9pm.
