Sligo GAA are delighted to announce new Sponsors for their 2020 Club Championship competitions commencing this weekend.

 

In one of the most difficult financial years ever for the County Board as a result of the impact of Covid 19, County Treasurer Peter Greene has confirmed that the AURVIO Co-op will sponsor all Adult Football Championship competitions this year.

 

The Senior Championship will be known as ‘The Homeland Senior Football Championship’’ while the Intermediate and Junior Championships will be sponsored by the “Connacht Gold” brand.

The official launch took place at Aurivo’s Homeland Plus store in Deep Water Quay on Monday afternoon and was attended by Brendan McGowan Head of Finance & Assets at Aurivo Agribusiness and Seamus Hannon, National Accounts Manager Aurivo Consumer Foods, while County Chairman Brendan Leonard, County Secretary Bernadine McGauran and County Treasurer Peter Greene represented Sligo GAA.

 

Seamus Hannon, National Account Manager, Aurivo Consumer Foods, welcomes the new partnership with Sligo GAA. He said, “Connacht Gold has supported Sligo County Board for many years and we’re very happy to sponsor the Junior and Intermediate club championships this year under our Connacht Gold brand. It’s an honour to support all the Clubs who compete in these competitions.”

 

 Brendan McGowan, Head of Finance & Assets at Aurivo Agribusiness said: “We are delighted and proud to support Sligo GAA through Homeland’s sponsorship of the Sligo Senior Football Club Championship. It’s the ideal fit for us with our flagship Homeland Plus store based in Deep Water Quay and eight other stores throughout the county. I wish all clubs every success in the coming season.”

 

County Chairman Brendan Leonard applauded AURIVO for their support in such a difficult time and ‘’he urged all Gaels in the county to replicate their thanks by supporting the Company across the county’’.

He went on to say ‘’that Sligo GAA were fortunate to have a local Company such as AURIVO to take up the mantle of sponsoring their premier Club competitions in such a difficult climate and he went on to thank the Quinn Family for sponsoring the Championships for the past 10 years’’.

 

The Championship season kicks off this weekend with fixtures in both the Senior and Intermediate Football Championship.
