By the 20th minute Oisín Flynn had put Castleconnor in the lead with a goal from play after good play by Carrabine and Jason Earlis and then with a long range free. Two quick points from McHugh brought the game level when a long range free was caught inside by Eugene Mullen who turned and fired to the net. Castleconnor came back with the final two scores of the half from play by Eoin Kent and Ronan Wilson. The half time score was 1-7 v 1-4 to Easkey.
