This was a real Jekyll and Hyde performance by Tubbercurry whilst Harps will wonder what would have happened if they played from the first whistle. The performance of the Tubber midfield and some excellent running and score taking by their forwards was a joy to watch but it all disappeared in the second half.

The first 10 minutes of the game it was an even contest with Ronan Mulligan and Shane O'Grady pointing for Harps and David Kelly and two very good points from play by Brian Morahan who had an excellent first half scoring 4 points in total. From the 8th minute to the 25 minute Harps barely crossed the half way line and in that time Tubber had increased their lead by 1-5, Dermot Walsh palming to the net after a Kelly handpass across the square. Dermot Walsh scored from a mark and Daragh Kilcoyne also added from play. Thomas Cryan had moved out the field to try to stem the tide and he was instrumental in Daragh Madden scoring from play. Ross Donovan made an astonishing block after it looked like Brian Curran had only to put the ball in the net in the 25th minute. By halftime the lead was 1-13 v 0-5 with Cryan and Mulligan reducing the deficit after Jason Perry had one from play.

Perry got the first score of the second half for Tubber in the 5th minute but in the next 15 minutes Harps scored 8 points on the trot with subs Martin Doherty and Niall McGill getting scores from out on the right wing and Sean Bruen tapping over after a mazy run. But the comeback was stopped abruptly with a well taken goal by Rory Ryan who had a very good hour and was also a great source for winning Colm McGee's kickouts.

Harps did respond with an O'Grady free and it was helped further with Curran and Gerard Perry both receiving two yellows each and departing the scene but Harps never made use of the extra men only scoring one point in the remaining minutes from Shawn O'Hara. The game finished with 12 v 14 as Jonathan East was given two yellows whilst Tubber received a black card.
