It was five years since our Junior Ladies contested a Junior final and last Sunday they played Shamrock Gaels in Riverstown. The ladies did they best to match Shamrock Gaels energy in the first two quarters and managed to get the deficit back to just 4 points entering the final quarter through some great team work but then Shamrock Gaels hit a purple patch with a goal and a number of points to win the game. Thanks to all the team and management for all their work and commitment all year and we have no doubt the girls will dig deep next season and be back to contest another final and build on the progress this year. it was great to see so many good muck messages from members on the club Facebook page and video messages from the younger teams. Many thanks to Brian O Reilly and Jim Costigan for their hard work with the ladies this year and it's great to see the progress the team has made and playing a very exciting brand of football.

Our under 12 girls made the trip to Curry last Sunday for the shield final against Eastern Harps on Sunday evening at 430pm on what turned out to be quite a windy evening. They played some great football in in the middle quarters but Eastern Harps fought hard and got some early scores in the final quarter to take the advantage and ran out winners. This concludes the season for the under 12 girls for this year and we would like to thank manager Eamon Kelly for all his effort and commitment this year. This is a talented group of players who no doubt progress and improve again for next year. Many thanks too to coaches Brenda O Boyle, Sandra Moran, Dave O'Hara and John Cox.

The club was very saddened last week to hear of the passing of Charlotte Oates, mother of Pauric Oates former Chairman of our Bord Na nOg. The club expresses our deepest condolences to all the Oates’s at this time. May she rest in peace. The club would also like to express its deepest sympathies to the Mc Sharry family on the sudden passing of Gabriel Mc Sharry last week also. May he rest in peace.

Thanks to all members who made a great effort to sell Club Sligo tickets and to all of the people in the parish who purchased tickets, hopefully we will have a few lucky winners in the Calry St Joseph's areas
