The Healthy club committee's walk/run challenge came to an end on Sunday and after 3 weeks of activity, the Gals N Pals team have just shaded it clocking up an average of 1.66KM more than the Lads N Dads. There was a total of 18,969KM covered by the teams over the 3 weeks - almost made it to Melbourne via New York. However, the Lads N Dads have an opportunity to close the gap as a new challenge has been added for the final week. There has been a significant amount of feedback on the amount of litter on all of the routes walked over the last three weeks and in conjunction with Riverstown Tidy Towns and Sligo County Council, the two teams will pick up litter across the Club area with bonus KM's given to the team who collects the most bags of litter. Thanks to the Healthy Club committee of Marina Swann, Brenda Crowley, Eileen Benson, Shirley McKenna, Majella Muldowney, Sharon Dineen and Joe Quinn for organising this initiative, one of many in the last twelve months.

There has been a great response to the annual National Club draw and tickets are still in circulation. The closing date has been extended to June, but we would encourage everyone to get the tickets back to Mary Quinn as soon as possible. This is one of the most important fundraising events of the year and 100% of the proceeds go to the club with a top prize of a car.

Membership is now open for the coming year and one of the best ways to join is to combine your membership with joining the monthly draw. The cost is €12.70 per month and along with membership, you have the chance to win monthly cash prizes - please contact any committee member, PM our facebook page or email secretary.shamrockgaels.sligo@gaa.ie.

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Patricia Davey, Tullybeg who died last week.
