Pride of the parish this week goes to our victorious u17 boys team and managers the 3 wise men Paddy Henry James Curley and Micheál Henry who claimed the BShield final v the almagamated Geevagh/St Michael’s team in a flurry of goals for both sides last Friday night. A young group of upcoming lads showed great heart and served up a mighty entertaining game across the 60 minutes including a converted penalty for each team by Tom Bailey and Dara Mostyn . They Finished off 10 points clear at the whistle on a score line of 5/16 to 5/6. Thank you to all those who came out to light the roads home to the pitch for the delighted team.

There was also a great win for our Minor ladies Wednesday  in the first game of their championship v Eoghan Rua . Aoibhean Harrington  & Holly Surlis made their debut for this team and Siobhan Dolan made a come back with a goal. There was great work across all the positions by the girls.

Our Junior men played a “must win to stay up” game at home on Saturday evening in the Division 3 game v Cloonacool. The lads pushed on to secure the the win to remain in the division on a score line of 1/12 to 2/5.

Sunday our senior men travelled to St Farnans to play the last game of the league and swapped leads more than once through the game then going down to 14 men with 10 minutes or so remaining finished all level when The final whistle sounded . They play Coolera/Strandhill in the League Final next Saturday evening at 5pm in Markievicz Park.

Our senior ladies play their league final on Sunday at 2pm in Curry.

Most underage teams have started their championship campaigns at this stage so best of luck to all teams.

The Kilmactigue graveyard mass was held on Friday night last and the rain didn’t dampen atmosphere and a lovely night was had remembering lost loved ones from the parish.

Congratulations and best wishes to Maureen and Brendan Walsh and family and all their staff on the opening of Walshs Village Inn in Tourlestrane. It’s wonderful to have a place to gather once again in the area and get back to a normal so we wish them every success.

Welcome home to all those visiting home at this time.

Sympathy is extended to the Cunney Family Lough Talt on the sad passing of Geraldine. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí.
