Sligo GAA formally launched its 2022
club football championships last weekend with an event at the Homeland Stores in Sligo where
it welcomed representatives of the participating clubs.
This year’s competitions are again
backed by Homeland Stores and Connacht Gold, two key brands of the Aurivo
group, now a widely respected national food group but with its origins firmly in
Sligo.
The Homeland Senior Championship, the
Connacht Gold Intermediate Championship and the Connacht Gold Junior B
Championships all throw in this coming weekend with the Junior A championship
beginning a week later.
Seán Carroll,
Cathaoirleach, Sligo GAA said “championship is the pinnacle of the season
for players and supporters alike and after a rousing intercounty season which
saw Sligo won a Connacht U20 title and reach the Tailteann Cup semi-final in
Croke Park, we are looking forward to seeing some top-class talent in action
around the county,
We are pleased also to
have the backing of Homeland and Connacht Gold as sponsors. The Aurivo Group is
very much part of our wider community in Sligo and these are two great local
brands that are the equal of any in Ireland and leaders on merit in this region
- exactly the type of profile that we want for Sligo GAA.
Caroline Millar,
Brand Development and Marketing Manager at Aurivo Agribusiness said “With
nine (9) Homeland stores across the county we have players and supporters in
every club among our customers and we will be cheering them all on and hope for
a great competition in the weeks ahead”
There is a full round of each of the Homeland Senior and the Connacht Gold Intermediate championships while there is a round of games in Group One of the Junior B championship..
Tickets are required for entry to the Senior and Intermediate championship games and can be purchased in advance at sligogaa.ie/tickets. Tickets at €10 each, U16s go free (no ticket required)
There is a special weekend ticket that allows entry to one or more matches that is available for €15
