Our Men’s Intermediate team celebrated a hard-fought win over Eastern Harps on Saturday evening in Kent Park in round two of the Intermediate Championship to make it two wins out of two bringing us to the top of Group 1 Intermediate Championship table. Final score in Kent Park was 0-14 to 1-07.

Our Junior Men fought an even tougher battle in Ballymote on Sunday with a one-point win over Shamrock Gaels in round two of the Junior A Football Championship. A tight affair from start to finish, it was a goal from second half substitute, and championship debutant, Ed Mullane, that finally clinched victory. Final score in Corran Park was Shamrock Gaels 1-10, Molaise Gaels, 1-11.

Our Junior Ladies were defeated by Coolera/Strandhill in their Junior B Championship clash in Monsignor Hynes Park on Sunday morning.

Both of our men’s teams have a break in their respective championships next weekend while our Junior Ladies have a Saturday evening fixture at home to St Farnan’s.

Earlier in the week, on Monday evening, our U16 Girls suffered a narrow but high-scoring defeat to neighbours, Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in Oxfield in their B Championship clash with a final score of 4-12 to 4-10. On Tuesday evening, our U13 Hurlers played out a draw at home to Tourlestrane in their Group 2, round 2 clash on a 4-04 to 2-10 score line while our U15 Boys were awarded a walkover in their round 3 championship fixture against St John’s. On Thursday evening, our Minor Ladies were defeated away to St Mary’s in the Minor A2 Championship, scoring 2-07 to Mary’s 4-18. Also on Thursday, our U15 Hurlers played out a high-scoring game against Calry/St Joseph’s in Hazelwood, coming out on top with a score of 6-13 against their opposition’s 7-05.

Ógra (our nursery) returned on Saturday morning after the summer break. It was great to see big numbers of boys and girls down on the pitch having fun and learning the basic skills of Football and hurling/camogie. New children born in 2016, 2017 and 2018 are very welcome every Saturday morning at 9.30am.

Adult hurling training continues Sundays at 10.30am on the training pitch. All levels are welcome and extra hurleys and helmets will be there for anyone who wants to give it a go. For further details call John Doyle 0851033435.

A big thank you to all our Molaise Gaels' coaches for running our fun CAMP FRIDAY in August. Our final camp finished on Friday with a surprise visit by the ice cream van to cool down our hard-training boys and girls after their morning’s exertions.

Well done the U8 Girls and U7 Boys who took part in a fantastic in-house football blitz on Wednesday evening in Cliffoney. It was great to see them having lots of fun and all the skills starting to really develop. Many thanks to Cliffoney Celtic for use of their facilities for the evening.
